Epcot Seas Pavilion to Add FASTPASS

The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion at Epcot is in the process of adding Fastpass to its exiting queue setup – or so we’ve been told. This does jive well with comments made previously by Epcot staff that the park will bring another Fastpass attraction online over the summer to accommodate for the closure of Test Track April-September this year. Here’s a lovely photo of the new refurbishment walls for your viewing pleasure:

IF this is true, it’s a head-scratcher.  My family and I visited Epcot at the tail-end of the 2011 Food and Wine Festival.  The park was completely mobbed, with walkways so crowded that it was hard to move.  Yet, The Seas was a total walk-on attraction, with the queue nearly empty.

Another great idea brought to you by TDO, while Universal is up the street kicking your tail with new shows and attractions, you just keep finding new ways to piss money away. Bravo Meg and Phil.

How can a Fastpass lane accomodate for the closure of another attraction?

You can only have one fast pass at a time. With test track closing. There is limited rides with the fast pass system. Therefore people will use all the time slots in the limited remaining rides. Making Nemo have fast pass people who have never been to the park before will feel like they are saving time to get on Nemo. In reality they are just one less person using the fast pass system for popular rides making the amount of time we weight for our fast pass times limited.
