Magic Kingdom Adding FASTPASS to Six Existing Attractions

UPDATED: Address list updated to include identification of Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world.”

The Walt Disney World resort has filed permits to add Fastpass signage to six existing attractions at the Magic Kingdom theme park. The permits only refer to the attractions by their addresses within the park, so deciphering exactly which attractions are getting the system is a bit difficult, at the same time we can rule out the new New Fantasyland additions as we know their addresses to compare.

The list includes Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion “it’s a small world” and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. The two remaining “unknown” attractions are located at 1220 and 1305B Monorail Way.

Oh boy, Fastpass on attractions that do not need it.

I think the ones on Monorail Way are for Parade and Firework viewing Fastpass. They’ve been testing with the concept, and Monorail Way is basically the entire Hub. So that’s what my money’s on.

Wait a minute!! Didn’t Haunted Mansion have Fastpass and then they decided to get rid of it, only to now re-install it? What sense does that make?

Cant they install them at Dumbo and Pooh so they no longer have to use Philharmagics?

Since the new X-Pass system where Disney resort guests can book their Fast Passes in advance of their trip is supposed to begin sometime in 2013, Disney is most likely installing these now so they can do some additional testing. The new X-Pass is supposed to include more attractions that what are currently covered by today’s Fast Pass, so it makes sense they would increase the number of attractions. Special viewing locations for the parades and fireworks is also supposed to be available under the X-Pass program, so the two unnamed locations will probably accommodate these two events.

Curious to know who Disney files these permits with? Since the Reedy Creek Improvement District is well a quasi-government organizations headed by Disney. And why permits and other paperwork to install “signage” and fastpass machines? Just Curious.
