AVATAR Project for Animal Kingdom Officially Delayed Indefinitely

The “World of AVATAR” Project for the Animal Kingdom theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort has officially been delayed indefinitely per reports coming from industry rag IGN:

Remember back in June when James Cameron announced that he would be shooting three Avatar sequels simultaneously? Well, now it seems that the filmmaker may have been getting a little ahead of himself.

Indie Wire reports that Avatar 4 will not be a part of Cameron’s back-to-back film shoot, according to producer Jon Landau. Additionally, it is still uncertain when production for Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 will begin as the former is currently slated for release no earlier than 2015.

The delays carry over into Cameron’s World of Avatar attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which was announced around this time last year. Due to creative differences between Cameron and Disney’s Imagineer development team, it seems as though we’ll be waiting even longer on that project as well.

Rumors of Imagineering being fundamentally against this attraction have been around since the first announcement. Now it looks like there’s some real meat to that gossip of infighting working to get the project shut down.

Well this is just great. Universal up the road moves forward on Harry Potter and Transformers, yet Disney don’t know what to do..
This is a disgrace and the suits are to blame. They underestimated the competition and now DON’T KNOW how to catch up.
They can start by adding attractions to each of their 4 parks. E – ATTRACTIONS.
In Magic Kingdom – a PETER PAN RIDE TO NEVERLAND USING SOARING TECHNOLOGY
In Epcot – add Russia and Brazil – add a new HORIZONS 2100.
In Hollywood Studios – add MOVIELAND with TRON, PIRATES, PRINCE OF PERSIA, CARLAND
In Animal Kingdom – go back to the original BEASTLY KINGDOM with major modifications – a dragon for any disney film, possibly Sleeping Beauty, Hercules & Pegesus, an alice & wonderland maze
In Downtown Disney – bring in the rides from Paradise Pier.
Sure, I have some ideas and the suits will not listen, but they need to. Investment in needed here in Walt Disney World.

I’m glad they’re not kicking out the festival of Lion king, but Disney is the CHEAPEST most UNINTERESTED in guest experience company around. All the parks need some serious love, and with the new resorts and vacation spots, a 5th park is due.
